Meet Karen
Karen Graham has been involved in the BC wine industry since 1998, first as a manager at a Kelowna-area winery, then for five years as principal of her own wine marketing consulting business in Vancouver - for such clients as the BC Wine Institute, Canadian Wine Awards (Wine Access magazine) and New Zealand Winegrowers.  More recently she honed professional skills in public policy analysis and government relations through her educational background and roles with a business organisation and government.

Karen finds she can never truly walk away from the grape – or the great people in the industry.  In 2011, she blended her experience in the wine industry with her knowledge of the BC policy and regulatory setting, and became an occasional contributor to the wine website Wine Monkey  (sadly, no longer online) on the business, regulatory and policy aspects of the BC and Canadian wine industry.

Wine Drops continues to develop this niche: independent observation and commentary on regulatory, policy and business issues in the wine and liquor industry in British Columbia. This is complemented by analysis of industry trends, and strategic perspectives on the implications of regulatory change on behalf of industry clients.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in International Relations/Political Science, and a Master of Public Policy degree. Her non-wine roles have included Senior Policy Analyst for the Business Council of BC, and Economic/Political advisor to the United States Consulate (Vancouver).  Her purpose with Wine Drops is to offer insightful observations, analysis and advice, drawn from her wine industry background and her public policy/government relations skills and experience.
